Michael Miller Challenge 2018

Fields of Lavender

You cannot believe my excitement when I received fabrics for the Michael Miller Fabric Challenge 2018.   This was my first ever entry to QuiltCon 2019.  Unfortunately, my quilt was not juried for exhibition but I am still happy that I was able to submit an entry.

The Seasons of Canberra

“Seasons of Canberra” is a quilt which is very dear to my heart. This quilt was commissioned by a young couple wanting to capture their own story on a quilt. I just loved making this unique quilt.   Each part of this quilt is a labour of love.  I have never used Applique to this extent in my quilts previously so it was a challenge for me.  I have even appliqued their beloved turtle on the quilt.

“Seasons of Canberra: Was published in the May Issue of the Australian Patchwork and Quilting Magazine.  The AP&Q magazine has ceased publication from 30 June 2018.

The Soccer Ball Quilt

The “Soccer Ball Quilt”, this quilt was made for my son when he was 11. He wanted to play soccer like Lionel Messi. He also got orange soccer boots like Messi. To capture his dreams at 11 I made this quilt for him. Using the the soccer ball novelty print and Helen Smith my favourite long arm quilter quilted soccer balls right through the quilt to capture the them of the quilt. After all these years the Australian Patchwork and Quilting Magazine wanted to publish my quilt. The quilt was published in the April issue of the AP&Q.  The AP&Q magazine has ceased publication from 30 June 2018, however pattern will be available on no3quiltstudio Craftsy store soon.
